%X Plant systems biology is currently facing several important challenges, whose nature depend on the considered frame of reference and associated scale. This review covers some of the issues associated respectively with the molecular, tissue, and whole-plant scales, as well as discusses the potential for latest advances in synthetic biology and machine-learning methods to be of use in the future of plant systems biology.
