@article{fdi:010083970, title = {{K}onateibacter massiliensis gen. nov. sp. nov. and {P}aenibacillus faecalis sp. nov., two new species isolated from the stool samples of infants suffering from marasmus}, author = {{S}arr, {M}. and {T}all, {M}. {L}. and {B}en {K}hedher, {M}. and {P}ham, {T}. {P}. {T}. and {M}baye, {B}. and {C}amara, {A}. and {A}rmstrong, {N}. and {C}hartier, {C}. and {F}adlane, {A}. and {S}okhna, {C}heikh and {R}aoult, {D}. and {T}idjani {A}lou, {M}aryam and {M}illion, {M}.}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{T}wo bacterial strains were isolated and identified using microbial culturomics and characterised according to the taxono-genomics strategy. {T}he strictly anaerobic strain, {M}arseille-{P}3773({T}), forms smooth and translucent colonies consisting of {G}ram-stain negative, non-motile and non-spore-forming rod-shaped cells. {S}train {M}arseille-{P}3787({T}) consists of {G}ram-stain positive, motile and spore-forming cells resulting in grey and translucent colonies. {T}he phylogenetic analysis of the 16{S} r{RNA} gene of strains {M}arseille-{P}3773({T}) and {M}arseille-{P}3787({T}) revealed a 96.9% similarity level with {L}achnotalea glycerini strain {DLD}10 and 97% identity with {P}aenibacillus uliginis strain {N}3/975, respectively. {T}he genome of strain {M}arseille-{P}3773 is 4,260,534 bp long with a 40.3 mol% {G} + {C} content and includes 3879 predicted genes of which 3769 are protein-coding genes, 76 {RNA}s and 34 are pseudo-genes. {S}train {M}arseille-{P}3787 had a genome size of 4,833,032 bp with a 47.9 mol% {G} + {C} and has 4481 predicted genes of which 4265 are protein-coding genes, 101 {RNA}s and 115 are pseudo-genes. {A}ccording to the data collected on these strains and, more specifically to the genomic comparison, we suggest the creation of a new genus and species, {K}onateibacter massiliensis gen. nov., sp. nov. with strain {M}arseille-{P}3773({T}) (={CSURP}3773 and {CCUG}71331) as its type strain within the {L}achnospiraceae family, as well as a new species, {P}aenibacillus faecalis sp. nov. with strain {M}arseille-{P}3787({T}) (={CSURP}3787 and {CCUG}71650) as its type strain within the {P}aenibacillus genus.}, keywords = {{SENEGAL} ; {DAKAR}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{C}urrent {M}icrobiology}, volume = {79}, numero = {2}, pages = {68 [12 p.]}, ISSN = {0343-8651}, year = {2022}, DOI = {10.1007/s00284-021-02757-6}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010083970}, }
