  abstract = {{T}he {M}alagasy phlebotomine sandfly fauna includes 17 species: five belong to the genus {P}hlebotomus, ten to the genus {S}ergentomyia, and two to the genus {G}rassomyia. {T}he current article describes {S}ergentomyia brunhesi sp. nov. and {S}ergentomyia vistellei sp. nov. from the {M}alagasy {H}ighlands. {F}emales were described morphologically from specimens collected at {R}anomafana-{I}fanadiana and {A}ndringitra. {P}artial molecular sequences of cyt b and 28{S} r{DNA} were retrieved for {S}e. vistellei sp. nov. {W}aiting new data, we consider these species as ungrouped {S}ergentomyia. {T}wo new species of {S}ergentomyia are recorded at higher altitudes in {M}adagascar. {K}nowledge of local {B}iodiversity is increasing. {N}ew investigations have to be carried out to describe males, to understand their bionomics, and to identify other potential new species at higher altitudes.},
