@article{fdi:010076063, title = {{I}solation and characterization of microsatellite loci from three widespread tropical sea cucumbers of the genus {H}olothuria ({E}chinodermata, {H}olothuroidea), and cross-amplification among them}, author = {{O}ury, {N}. and {L}{\'e}opold, {M}arc and {M}agalon, {H}.}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{H}olothuria ({M}icrothele) fuscogilva ({C}herbonnier, 1980), {H}olothuria sp. type {P}entard and {H}olothuria ({M}icrothele) nobilis ({S}elenka, 1867) are three tropical sea cucumber taxa that are heavily fished worldwide for the beche-de-mer trade market. {I}n order to investigate the population genetic structure, diversity and connectivity of these taxa, 16, 19 and 25 microsatellite loci were isolated from {H}. fuscogilva, {H}olothuria sp. type {P}entard and {H}. nobilis {DNA} libraries, respectively. {T}hese loci were tested on 94, 60 and eight individuals of the respective species, collected from the {S}eychelles. {T}he number of alleles per locus ranged from 2 to 30. {T}he observed heterozygosity ranged from 0.245 to 0.890 for {H}. fuscogilva and from 0.200 to 0.950 for {H}olothuria sp. type {P}entard, while the expected heterozygosity ranged from 0.231 to 0.952 and from 0.504 to 0.951, respectively. {S}everal loci were at {H}ardy-{W}einberg equilibrium and linkage disequilibrium was detected in only three pairs of loci. {C}ross-amplification was also tested and almost all loci (49 over 60) were polymorphic for at least two of the three studied taxa, showing high transferability among them. {T}hese loci represent useful tools for assessing genetic diversity and population structure of these three taxa in fishery areas, and therefore providing relevant knowledge for resource management.}, keywords = {{H}olothuria ({M}icrothele) fuscogilva ; {H}olothuria sp. ; type "{P}entard" ; {H}olothuria ({M}icrothele) nobilis ; {S}ea cucumbers ; {M}icrosatellites ; {H}olothurians ; {SEYCHELLES} ; {MAHE}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{M}olecular {B}iology {R}eports}, volume = {46}, numero = {3}, pages = {3501--3510}, ISSN = {0301-4851}, year = {2019}, DOI = {10.1007/s11033-019-04747-1}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010076063}, }
