  abstract = {{F}rom 2004 to 2010 we sampled snakes in different localities in the {R}epublic of {M}ali, {W}est {A}frica. {A} total of 5,224 snakes belonging to 60 species were collected at 37 localities, including specimens from 18 species not reported before from this country. {B}ased on a full account of this collection, supplemented with additional museum specimens and reliable literature reports, we present an annotated checklist of the 65 snake species currently known from {M}ali. {C}ol- lecting localities for all specimens are provided and, where necessary, some taxonomical and biogeographical issues are discussed.},
