  abstract = {{P}arti d'un t{\'e}moignage personnel, cet article vise {\`a} montrer que, s'il avait jou{\'e} un r{\^o}le majeur dans ce qui fut la p{\'e}riode la plus f{\'e}conde de l'africanisme fran{\c{c}}ais (1960-1980), {G}eorges {B}alandier est rest{\'e}, jusqu'au bout, fid{\`e}le {\`a} l'esprit des {C}ahiers internationaux de sociologie, et {\`a} {G}eorges {G}urvitch, le fondateur de cette revue. {S}on oeoeuvre, dans l'imm{\'e}diat {A}pr{\`e}s-guerre, reconstruit la sociologie fran{\c{c}}aise, puisant non seulement dans son h{\'e}ritage d'{A}vant-guerre, mais aussi dans d'autres grandes sources intellectuelles ({L}eiris, {C}amus, {S}artre). {L}es m{\'e}tamorphoses et les dynamismes sociaux ont continûment mobilis{\'e} {B}alandier, qu'ils aient eu lieu en {A}frique, au temps mouvement{\'e} de la d{\'e}colonisation, ou qu'ils se produisent aujourd'hui, pour reprendre ses formules, {\`a} l'heure des « nouveaux {N}ouveaux mondes » et de la « surmodernit{\'e} ».  {W}ith a personal recollection as its point of departure, this article aims at showing how, if {G}eorges {B}alandier played a major role during the most proliic period of {F}rench {A}fricanism (1960-1980), he remained, until the end, faithful to the spirit of the {C}ahiers internationaux de sociologie, and to {G}eorges {G}urvitch, the founder of this review. {H}is work, in the immediate postwar period, reconstructed {F}rench sociology, revisiting not only its heritage from the prewar period, but also inspired by other great intellectual sources ({L}eiris, {C}amus, {S}artre). {M}etamorphoses and social dynamisms continued to mobilize {B}alandier, whether they took place in {A}frica during the time of decolonization or were being produced today, as he termed it, in the era of "new {N}ew {W}orlds" and "surmodernity".},
