@article{fdi:010072007, title = {{B}asin effects on ground motion : the case of a high-resolution experiment in {C}ephalonia ({G}reece)}, author = {{T}heodoulidis, {N}. and {C}ultrera, {G}. and {C}ornou, {C}{\'e}cile and {B}ard, {P}. {Y}. and {B}oxberger, {T}. and {D}i{G}iulio, {G}. and {I}mtiaz, {A}. and {K}ementzetzidou, {D}. and {M}akra, {K}. and {A}rgostoli {NERA} {T}eam}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{I}n this study data and results of a high-resolution experiment in {C}ephalonia ({G}reece) regarding empirical basin effects are presented. {A} total of 59 velocimeters and 17 accelerometers were deployed in the basin of {A}rgostoli {C}ephalonia ({G}reece), for a period of 7 months ({S}eptember 2011-{A}pril 2012). {D}ue to high seismicity of the western {G}reece and surrounding area this array recorded thousands of local, regional and global events. {D}ata used in this work come from a selection of 162 regional and local earthquakes, 3 km <= {R} <= 600 km, with magnitude range, 1.0 <= {M} <= 5.2. {B}ased on high signal-to-noise ratio recordings and two selected reference stations, variation of several intensity measures ({PGA}, {PGV}, {A}rias {I}ntensity, {C}umulative {A}bsolute {V}elocity), significant duration, {HVSR} and {SSR} of ground motion recordings on soil sites within the basin is carefully examined for a range of frequencies of engineering interest. {C}omparison of results with a detailed 2{D} geologic model shows a good consistency both in amplification and frequency domain. {I}nfluence of "reference' site on ground motion variation of soil sites is also discussed in light of our results. {F}inally, it is suggested that 2{D} or/and 3{D} theoretical modeling should be performed given the availability of geological and geophysical parameters to define a realistic model of the basin. {R}esults of this study can undoubtedly serve in model validation and improvement of ground motion simulation tools.}, keywords = {{G}round motion ; {B}asin and site effects ; {I}ntensity measures ; {C}ephalonia ; {G}reece ; {GRECE}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{B}ulletin of {E}arthquake {E}ngineering}, volume = {16}, numero = {2}, pages = {529--560}, ISSN = {1570-761{X}}, year = {2018}, DOI = {10.1007/s10518-017-0225-4}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010072007}, }
