@article{fdi:010071233, title = {{S}trike-slip metamorphic core complexes : gneiss domes emplaced in releasing bends}, author = {{D}en{\`e}le, {Y}. and {R}oques, {D}. and {G}anne, {J}{\'e}r{\^o}me and {C}hardon, {D}ominique and {R}ousse, {S}onia and {B}arbey, {P}.}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{W}e investigate the development of a {N}eoproterozoic metamorphic core complex ({MCC}) in the {M}arbat area (southern {A}rabian {P}eninsula). {T}he {MCC} is a gneiss dome emplaced in a releasing bend along a dextral strike-slip fault system. {D}ome emplacement-related extension was at a high angle to the long axis of the dome and 65 degrees from the strike-slip fault system. {S}hortening is recorded in the upper plate of the {MCC} in a direction normal to the extension direction. {E}xtensional emplacement of the gneiss dome accommodated lower crust exhumation and contributed to the formation of a ductile strike-slip releasing bend from an initial fault step. {T}he {M}arbat example allows defining transversal stretching-dominated strike-slip {MCC}s, which would represent the early development stages of longitudinal stretching-dominated strike-slip {MCC}s. {C}onversely, longitudinal stretching-dominated strike-slip {MCC}s produced at low finite extension would result from strike-slip-dominated transtension. {T}his study bears important implications for lower crust exhumation under pulla-part basin systems in obliquely convergent or divergent settings.}, keywords = {{OMAN} ; {ARABIQUE} {PENINSULE}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{G}eology}, volume = {45}, numero = {10}, pages = {903--906}, ISSN = {0091-7613}, year = {2017}, DOI = {10.1130/g39065.1}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010071233}, }
