@article{fdi:010070272, title = {{S}elective isolation and screening of {A}ctinobacteria strains producing lignocellulolytic enzymes using olive pomace as substrate}, author = {{M}edouni-{H}aroune, {L}. and {Z}aidi, {F}. and {M}edouni-{A}drar, {S}. and {R}oussos, {S}evastianos and {A}zzouz, {S}. and {D}esseaux, {V}. and {K}echa, {M}.}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{B}ackground: {O}live pomace, as the main by-product of the olive oil industry, is recently recycled as fermentation substrate for enzyme production. {O}bjectives: {A}ctinobacteria isolates were separated from an {A}lgerian soil under olive pomace cultivation and were evaluated for their lignocellulolytic enzymes production. {M}aterials and {M}ethods: {I}solates of {A}ctinobacteria were separated from soils around oil mills using four isolation media, among them three were enriched by olive pomace. {T}he isolates were screened for their cellulolytic, xylanolytic and ligninolytic activities. {I}solates with potential of producing lignocellulose-degrading enzymes were selected under submerged fermentation based olive pomace. {R}esults: {N}inety isolates of {A}ctinobacteria were separated from soil samples. {M}3 medium (raw pomace autoclaved alone) was the best isolation medium (68 strains), whereas, the soil from oil mill with continuous system ({S}1) led to separation of 52 strains. {A}mong the 90 isolates, 82 were shown promising enzyme activity, 19 isolates were presented the largest zone diameter (< 30 mm). {S}1{M}3{I} and {S}1{M}3{II} isolates were exhibited the highest values. {C}onclusions: {O}live pomace with medium low cost and high titers of enzymes can be valorized by culture of {A}ctinobacteria to produce lignocellulolytic enzymes for industrial applications.}, keywords = {{A}ctinobacteria ; {L}ignocellulolytic enzymes ; {O}live pomace ; {S}ubmerged ; fermentation ; {ALGERIE}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{I}ranian {J}ournal of {B}iotechnology}, volume = {15}, numero = {1}, pages = {74--77}, ISSN = {1728-3043}, year = {2017}, DOI = {10.15171/ijb.1278}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010070272}, }
