@article{fdi:010070218, title = {{P}hylogeny and diversification of the cloud forest {M}orpho sulkowskyi group ({L}epidoptera, {N}ymphalidae) in the evolving {A}ndes}, author = {{N}attier, {R}. and {C}apdevielle {D}ulac, {C}laire and {C}assilde, {C}. and {C}ouloux, {A}. and {C}ruaud, {C}. and {L}achaume, {G}. and {L}amas, {G}. and {S}ilvain, {J}ean-{F}ran{\c{c}}ois and {B}landin, {P}.}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{T}he monophyletic {M}orpho sulkowskyi butterfly group, endemic of {A}ndean cloud forests, was studied to test the respective contributions of {M}io-{P}liocene intense uplift period and {P}leistocene glacial cycles on {A}ndean biodiversity. {W}e sampled nine taxa covering the whole geographical range of the group. {T}wo mitochondrial and two nuclear genes were analysed using a {B}ayesian method. {W}e established a dated phylogeny of the group using a relaxed clock method and a wide-outgroup approach. {T}o discriminate between two hypotheses, we used a biogeographical probabilistic method. {R}esults suggest that the ancestor of the {M}.sulkowskyi group originated during the {M}iddle-{L}ate {M}iocene uplift of the {E}astern {C}ordillera in northern {P}eru. {B}iogeographical inference suggests that the {M}.sulkowskyi and {M}orpho lympharis clades diverged in the northern {P}eruvian {A}ndes. {T}he subsequent divergences, from the {L}ate {M}iocene to the {L}ate {P}liocene, should have resulted from a dispersal towards the {N}orthern {A}ndes ({M}.sulkowskyi clade), after the closure of the {W}est {A}ndean {P}ortal separating the {C}entral and {N}orthern {A}ndes, and a southwards dispersal along the {P}eruvian and {B}olivian {E}astern {C}ordilleras ({M}.lympharis clade). {O}nly a few divergences occurred at the very end of the {P}liocene or during the {P}leistocene, a period when the more recent uplifts interfered with {P}leistocene glacial cycles.}, keywords = {{PEROU} ; {ANDES} ; {ZONE} {TROPICALE}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{Z}oologica {S}cripta}, volume = {46}, numero = {4}, pages = {459--472}, ISSN = {0300-3256}, year = {2017}, DOI = {10.1111/zsc.12226}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010070218}, }
