@article{fdi:010068728, title = {{A} new phthalide derivative from {P}eperomia nivalis}, author = {{V}asquez-{O}cmin, {P}. and {H}addad, {M}ohamed and {G}adea, {A}lice and {J}ullian, {V}al{\'e}rie and {C}astillo, {D}. and {P}aloque, {L}. and {C}erapio, {J}. {P}. and {B}ourdy, {G}enevi{\`e}ve and {S}auvain, {M}ichel}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{O}ne new phthalide (1) was isolated from aerial parts of {P}eperomia nivalis, along with known compounds (2 and 3), reported in this species for the first time. {T}he structure of the new compound was characterised on the basis of 1{D} ({H}-1 and {C}-13 {NMR}), 2{D} ({COSY}, {HMQC}, {HMBC} and {NOESY}) {NMR} and high-resolution mass spectral ({HRMS}) data. {C}ompound 2 was isolated from a natural source for the first time but previously synthesised. {C}ompounds 1-3 were evaluated for their anti-{H}elicobacter pylori and anti-{P}lasmodium falciparum activities. {C}ompound 1 showed moderate activities against {H}. pylori ({MIC} 47.5 mu {M}) and the {F}32-{T}anzania strain of {P}. falciparum ({IC}50 8.5 mu {M}). {C}ompounds 2 and 3 exhibited weak anti-{H}. pylori activity ({MIC} 241.3 and 237.6 mu {M}, respectively) and were inactive against {P}. falciparum.
