  abstract = {{T}his paper reports two deep-sea shrimps, {A}canthephyra acanthitelsonis and {A}. armata from southwestern {A}tlantic waters. {T}he samples were collected in two different moments, the first in the {P}otiguar {B}asin, northeast of {B}razil (03/05 degrees {S}; 38/35 degrees {W}), covering the states of {R}io {G}rande do {N}orte ({RN}) and {C}eare ({CE}) in the year of 2011, and afterward on {R}ocas {A}toll, located in the state of {R}io {G}rande do {N}orte ({RN}) (3 degrees 51' {S}, 033 degrees 49' {W}; 3 degrees 52' {S}, 033 degrees 47' {W}) in the year of 2015. {T}he occurrence of {A}. acanthitelsonis on {R}ocas {A}toll and {A}. armata found along the continental slope in the {P}otiguar {B}asin, comprising both species, which were recorded for the first time in the southwestern {A}tlantic. {T}his paper increases the number of {A}canthephyra species recorded in {B}razilian waters up to six and adds to our knowledge and distribution of deepsea fauna in the south {A}tlantic.},
