({A}ngraecinae, {O}rchidaceae) in {C}entral {A}frica, with the description of a new species restricted to submontane vegetation}, author = {{A}zandi, {L}. and {S}tevart, {T}. and {S}onke, {B}. and {S}imo-{D}roissart, {M}. and {A}vana, {M}. {L}. and {D}roissart, {V}incent}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{A}s a preliminary step to the taxonomic revision of the genus {C}yrtorchis, a synoptic revision of the species occurring in {C}entral {A}frica was undertaken. {B}ased on a detailed examination of 1,039 herbarium specimens, including nomenclatural types, we have recognized 14 species in {C}entral {A}frica (one of which is divided into two subspecies), including one new species that the study brought to light, described here as {C}yrtorchis submontana. {T}he new species closely resembles {C}. guillaumetii and {C}. brownii in general aspect, but differs from them in having thinner, small elliptic leaves and shorter, fewer-flowered, more lax inflorescences with shorter bracts. {T}he species is restricted to submontane vegetation of {C}entral {A}frica and is assessed as {E}ndangered following the {IUCN} {R}ed {L}ist {C}ategories and {C}riteria. {C}yrtorchis latibracteata and {C}. subcylindrifolia are lectotypified, and the latter is placed as a synonym under {C}. henriquesiana. {M}any new records are reported, and for each taxon the distribution, habitat and ecology are given. {A}n identification key for the {C}entral {A}frican taxa is also provided.}, keywords = {{A}ngraecoid orchids ; {C}entral {A}frican rainforest ; {H}omocolleticon ; new records ; shadehouses network ; taxonomy ; {AFRIQUE} {CENTRALE}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{P}hytotaxa}, volume = {267}, numero = {3}, pages = {165--186}, ISSN = {1179-3155}, year = {2016}, DOI = {10.11646/phytotaxa.267.3.1}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010067748}, }
