@article{fdi:010065426, title = {{D}istributions of organochlorine pesticides and polychlorinated biphenyl in surface water from {B}izerte {L}agoon, {T}unisia}, author = {{N}ecibi, {M}. and {M}zoughi, {N}. and {Y}ahia, {M}. {N}. {D}. and {P}ringault, {O}livier}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{T}he contamination of the marine environment by organic pollutants is a matter of great concern. {B}izerte {L}agoon is the second largest lagoon in {T}unisia, and is known for different industry and fishing activities. {T}he objective of this work is to investigate the distribution of seven polychlorinated biphenyls ({PCB}s) and nine organochlorine ({OCP}s) pesticides in water samples collected from the {L}agoon of {B}izerte. {E}xtraction of water samples was performed by liquid-liquid extraction with hexane. {G}as chromatography with {N}i-63 electron capture detector was used to perform qualitative and quantitative determinations. {T}he average concentrations of {OCP}s were 0.42 and 14.92ng{L}(-1). {F}or {PCB}s the concentrations range between 3 and 10.4ng{L}(-1). {T}he predominant {PCB} congeners in the surface water were {PCB} 28 (0.2-1.4ng{L}(-1)) and {PCB} 52 (0.8-3.5ng{L}(-1)). {T}he most widespread {OCP}s were {DDT}s with a concentration varied between {ND} and 8.51ng{L}(-1), heptachlor ({ND} and 7.83ng{L}(-1)), and endrin ({ND} and 1.51ng{L}(-1)). {T}hese concentrations are generally similar to the background levels from the {M}editerranean {S}ea.}, keywords = {{P}esticides ; {S}urface seawater ; {B}izerte lagoon ; {M}arine environment ; {TUNISIE} ; {BIZERTE} ; {MEDITERRANEE}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{D}esalination and {W}ater {T}reatment}, volume = {56}, numero = {10}, pages = {2663--2671}, ISSN = {1944-3994}, year = {2015}, DOI = {10.1080/19443994.2015.1024935}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010065426}, }
