Legumes can enter into a mutualistic relationship with nitrogen-fixing rhizobacteria. A recent study by A. Break-spear et sheds new light on the mechanisms involved in rhizobial infection of their host root hair during symbiosis establishment and reveals a new role for auxin signaling in this process.
