  abstract = {{T}he family {R}hizobiaceae accommodates the seven genera {R}hizobium, {N}eorhizobium, {A}llorhizobium, {A}grobacterium, {E}nsifer (syn. {S}inorhizobium), {S}hinella and {C}iceribacter. {H}owever, several so-called {R}hizobium species do not exhibit robust phylogenetic positions. {R}hizobium is extremely heterogeneous and is in need of major revision. {T}herefore, a phylogenetic examination of the family {R}hizobiaceae by multilocus sequence analysis ({MLSA}) of four housekeeping genes among 100 strains of the family was undertaken. {B}ased on the results we propose the delineation of the new genus {P}ararhizobium in the {R}hizobiaceae family, and 13 new species combinations: {A}grobacterium nepotum comb. nov., {A}grobacterium pusense comb. nov., {A}grobacterium skierniewicense comb. nov., {A}llorhizobium yids comb. nov., {A}llorhizobium taibaishanense comb. nov., {A}llorhizobium paknamense comb. nov., {A}llorhizobium oryzae comb. nov., {A}llorhizobium pseudoryzae comb. nov., {A}llorhizobium borbori comb. nov., {P}ararhizobium giardinii comb. nov., {P}ararhizobium capsulatum comb. nov., {P}ararhizobium herbae comb. nov., and {P}ararhizobium sphaerophysae comb. nov.},
