@article{fdi:010064108, title = {{D}evelopment of a new {PCR}-based assay to detect {A}naplasmataceae and the first report of {A}naplasma phagocytophilum and {A}naplasma platys in cattle from {A}lgeria [+ {C}orrigendum paru dans le vol. 57 de 2018]}, author = {{D}ahmani, {M}. and {D}avoust, {B}. and {B}enterki, {M}. {S}. and {F}enollar, {F}. and {R}aoult, {D}idier and {M}ediannikov, {O}leg}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{B}ovine anaplasmosis is a hemoparasitic disease considered as a major constraint to cattle production in many countries. {T}his pathology is at least partially caused by {A}naplasma phagocytophilum, {A}naplasma marginate, {A}naplasma centrale, and {A}naplasma bovis. {T}he global threat and emergence of these species in animals require the reliable identification of these bacteria in animal samples. {I}n this study, we developed a new q{PCR} tool targeting the 23{S} r{RNA} gene for the detection of {A}naplasmataceae bacteria. {T}he primers and probe for the q{PCR} reaction had 100% specificity and could identify at least {A}. phagocytophilum, {A}. marginate, {A}. centrale, {A}naplasma ovis, {A}naplasma platys, {E}hrlichia canis, {E}hrlichia ruminantium, {N}eorickettisa sennetsu, and {N}eorickettsia risticii. {W}e used this tool to test samples of bovines from {B}atna ({A}lgeria), an area from which bovine anaplasmosis have never been reported. {W}e identified three genetic variants of {A}. phagocytophilum, {A}. platys and {A}naplasma sp.
