  abstract = {{O}rientia bacterium is the agent of the scrub typhus, a seriously neglected life-threatening disease in {A}sia. {H}ere, we report the detection of {DNA} of {O}rientia in rodents from {E}urope and {A}frica. {T}hese findings have important implications for public health. {S}urveillance outside {A}sia, where the disease is not expected by sanitary services, needs to be improved.},
