  abstract = {{W}e present here the results of a study of 4,906 snakes from {G}uinea belonging to 95 species collected from 2002 to 2013 at 54 localities in all administrative regions of the country. {W}e resurrect {D}ipsadoboa guineensis from the synonymy of {D}. brevirostris and consider the latter species a junior synonym of {D}. duchesnei. {I}n addition we resurrrect {P}hilothamnus pobeguini and {P}. belli from the synonymy of {P}. heterodermus. 19 species were not previously collected in this country, including {L}etheobia coecata, {T}richeilostoma bicolor, {M}yriopholis rouxestevae, {R}hinoleptus koniagui, {P}ython regius, {G}rayia tholloni, {N}atriciteres fuliginoides, {P}hilothamnus heterolepidotus, {T}hrasops aethiopissa, {A}mblyodipsas unicolor, {G}onionotophis granti, {M}ehelya crossi, {P}rosymna gregeirti, {P}rosymna meleagris, {R}hamphiophis oxyrhynchus, {E}lapsoidea trapei, {N}aja katiensis, {N}aja senegalensis and {E}chis jogeri. {B}ased on a critical review of literature and our own data, we compare the currently known snake fauna of {G}uinea (104 species) with that of {S}ierra {L}eone (65 species), {L}iberia (63 species), {I}vory {C}oast (101 species), {G}hana (102 species), {T}ogo (93 species), {B}enin (72 species) and {N}igeria (118 species).},
