  abstract = {{M}orphological observation suggests that the genus {S}esamia ({L}epidoptera: {N}octuidae) is a heterogeneous group of species. {T}he phylogenetic tree constructed from three mitochondrial genes confirmed that this genus is polyphyletic. {T}wo species, {S}esamia sylvata {J}anse and {S}esamia mesosticha {F}letcher have no recent common ancestor either with the species typical of the genus {S}esamia or with the other genera of {S}esamiina included in the analysis. {T}wo new genera must be created for these two species. {F}urthermore, {I} show that {S}esamia roumeti {L}aporte is a synonym of {S}esamia nonagrioides ({L}ef{\`e}bvre) and {I} describe {S}esamia perplexa {J}anse, known to date in the literature only by a picture of the male genitalia.},
