(1987), {D}ijkerman (1988), {V}ereecken et al. (1989), {B}atjes (1996), van den {B}erg et al. (1997), {T}omasella et al. (2000), {H}odnett & {T}omasella (2002), {O}liveira et al. (2002), and {B}arros (2010). {W}e used a database that includes soil texture (sand, silt, and clay), bulk density, soil organic carbon, soil p{H}, cation exchange capacity, and the {SWRC}. {M}ost of the {PTF}s tested did not show good performance in estimating the {SWRC}. {T}he parametric {PTF}s, however, performed better than the point {PTF}s in assessing the {SWRC} in the tested region. {A}mong the parametric {PTF}s, those proposed by {T}omasella et al. (2000) achieved the best accuracy in estimating the empirical parameters of the van {G}enuchten (1980) model, especially when tested in the top soil layer.}, keywords = {parametric {PTF}s ; point {PTF}s ; soil physics ; soil water ; {BRESIL} ; {AMAZONIE}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{R}evista {B}rasileira de {C}iencia do {S}olo}, volume = {38}, numero = {3}, pages = {730--743}, ISSN = {0100-0683}, year = {2014}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010062715}, }
