@article{fdi:010062382, title = {{T}axonomic revision of the continental {A}frican species of {A}ngraecum section {P}ectinaria ({O}rchidaceae)}, author = {{S}imo-{D}roissart, {M}. and {S}onke, {B}. and {D}roissart, {V}incent and {G}eerinck, {D}. and {M}icheneau, {C}. and {L}owry, {P}. {P}. and {P}lunkett, {G}. {M}. and {H}ardy, {O}. {J}. and {S}tevart, {T}.}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{A}ngraecum, the largest genus of the angraecoid orchids, has long been regarded as a natural group possessing a common overall floral morphology, although recent molecular studies have called into question its monophyly. {N}o recent taxonomic revision is available for the genus or its sections, and previous studies (whether based on morphology or {DNA} sequences) have suffered from a paucity of material from continental {A}frica. {A}n earlier study suggested that the section {P}ectinaria was polyphyletic, with one clade, containing the type species, centered in {M}adagascar and the other in continental {A}frica. {O}ur recent morphometric and molecular study confirmed the polyphyly of this section, clarified the circumscription of its continental {A}frican species, and assessed their monophyly. {H}ere we present a comprehensive taxonomic revision of the five continental {A}frican members of {A}ngraecum section {P}ectinaria, including an identification key, distribution maps, and an assessment of their conservation status (two are threatened, one could become threatened in the near future, and two do not meet the criteria for threatened status). {S}pecies richness is highest in {A}tlantic {C}entral {A}frica, and {A}. gabonense is reported for the first time from {E}quatorial {G}uinea. {L}ectotypffications are made for {A}. pungens, {A}. subulatum and its synonym, {A}. canaliculatiem.}, keywords = {{A}ngraecoid orchids ; distribution map ; identification key ; {IUCN} red list ; categories and criteria ; {W}est and {C}entral {A}frica ; {AFRIQUE} {DE} {L}'{OUEST} ; {AFRIQUE} {CENTRALE}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{S}ystematic {B}otany}, volume = {39}, numero = {3}, pages = {725--739}, ISSN = {0363-6445}, year = {2014}, DOI = {10.1600/036364414x682184}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010062382}, }
