@article{fdi:010061231, title = {{G}eomorphic expression of the southern {C}entral {A}ndes forebulge (37 degrees {S}, {A}rgentina)}, author = {{N}iviere, {B}. and {M}essager, {G}. and {C}arretier, {S}{\'e}bastien and {L}acan, {P}.}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{A}bstract {W}e present a geomorphologic analysis of an east-west transect located east of the southern {A}ndes of {A}rgentina (~37 degrees {S}). {W}e observe a succession of zones that underwent erosion and deposition during the {P}leistocene. {I}f the proximal {A}ndean foothills are incised, a proximal depozone receives sediments feeding the megafan of the {R}io {C}olorado on the {C}hadileuvu plain. {M}ore distally, the abandoned palaeo-valleys and bending of the valley floors reflect a localized uplift. {F}urther to the east, another depozone corresponds to the {P}ampa {D}eprimida lowland. {T}his pattern is consistent with the presence of a classical flexural geometry of the lithosphere. {T}he distal uplift of the foreland corresponds in terms of location, length (150 km) and amplitude (240 m) to the {A}ndean forebulge modelled by a geophysical approach. {I}n this study, we identify the morphological imprint of this bulge and show its effect on the fluvial activity.}, keywords = {{ANDES} ; {ARGENTINE}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{T}erra {N}ova}, volume = {25}, numero = {5}, pages = {361--367}, ISSN = {0954-4879}, year = {2013}, DOI = {10.1111/ter.12044}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010061231}, }
