@article{fdi:010060787, title = {{M}olecular diversity of {R}ice grassy stunt virus in {V}ietnam}, author = {{T}a, {H}. {A}. and {N}guyen, {D}. {P}. and {C}ausse, {S}. and {N}guyen, {T}. {D}. and {N}go, {V}. {V}. and {H}{\'e}brard, {E}ug{\'e}nie}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{R}ice grassy stunt virus ({RGSV}, {T}enuivirus) recently emerged on rice in {V}ietnam, causing high yield losses during 2006-2009. {T}he genetic diversity of {RGSV} is poorly documented. {I}n this study, the two genes encoded by each ambisense segment {RNA}3 and {RNA}5 of {RGSV} isolates from six provinces of {S}outh {V}ietnam were sequenced. {P}3 and {P}c3 ({RNA}3) have unknown function, {P}5 ({RNA}5) encodes the putative silencing suppressor, and {P}c5 ({RNA}5) encodes the nucleocapsid protein ({N}). {T}he sequences of 17 {V}ietnamese isolates were compared with reference isolates from {N}orth and {S}outh {P}hilippines. {T}he average nucleotide diversity among the isolates was low. {W}e confirmed a higher variability of {RNA}3 than {RNA}5 and {P}c3 than {P}3. {N}o relationships between the genetic diversity and the geographic distribution of {RGSV} isolates could be ascertained, likely because of the long-distance migration of the insect vector. {T}his data will contribute to a better understanding on the {RGSV} epidemiology in {S}outh {V}ietnam, a prerequisite for further management of the disease and rice breeding for resistance.}, keywords = {{VIETNAM}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{V}irus {G}enes}, volume = {46}, numero = {2}, pages = {383--386}, ISSN = {0920-8569}, year = {2013}, DOI = {10.1007/s11262-012-0845-3}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/fdi:010060787}, }
