  abstract = {{A}edes albopictus were collected in the {F}rench military camp of {L}ibreville, {E}stuaire {P}rovince, {G}abon, from {J}anuary to {M}arch 2007 by human landing catches during an entomological evaluation of malaria transmission. {I}nspection of potential larval habitats within and outside the camp showed that {A}e. albopictus was found only in artificial containers (discarded tires and small water containers). {A}ssociated species of mosquito larvae were {A}e. aegypti ({L}.) and {C}ulex quinquefusciatus. {A}t the same time, {A}e. albopictus adults and larvae were also collected from discarded tires in {T}cheungue near {P}ort {G}entil, {O}goue {M}aritime {P}rovince. {A}e. albopictus seems to be established in this part of {G}abon's littoral. {F}urther studies are necessary to investigate the extension of {A}e. albopictus establishment throughout the country.},
