The results show that the fungi can act against #M. incognita$ and #M. mayaguensis$, the most infective species in West Africa but also frequently detected through coffee plantations. They can also control the development of #Meloidogyne$ populations on tomato plants. A cultural practice has been developped using compost blocks in which the fungus was inoculated. In a field experiment, the growth of tomato plants has been increased while the nematode development has been decreased. However, all these experiments have been performed during a short period. In order to enhance the competitivity of the fungus, the fungus can be associated with bacterial isolates, called NHB (Nematophagous Helper Bacteria), which stimulate the fungal activity against #Meloidogyne$ but involve also a depressive effect on other plant parasitic nematodes such as #Rotylenchulus reniformis$.
