%X Describing the Soufrière's Guadeloupean volcano has been one of the favorite themes of Antillan and French literature of the 17th century. However, the landscape became "territorialized" much later. This paper addresses the question of identity related to territory among migrant and slave descendents by introducing a few texts about the volcano. (Résumé d'auteur)
