Obviously, Istanbul has become a very attractive metropolitan area for the so called "South-Eastern" people. Even if it's difficult to estimate precisely the exact number of Kurdish people living in Istanbul, we can claim that it's much easier to be a Kurd in Istanbul than in Diyarbakir (the main city in turkish Kurdistan), because of the new opportunities available to support the identity-making process. In fact, besides indirect means (like private foundations...) the Kurds have new and various means to assert themselves, openly, as different. (Résumé d'auteur)
