This work, based on previous knowledge of natural and anthropogenic reasons for the apparition of tepetates, aims to precise if information gathered in the Mexico and Tlaxcala valleys is also valid for the rest of the neovolcanic belt. We created a map of potential tepetate presence with a GIS and confronted it with teledetection views and field information. Then we crossed agro-socio-economic data to determine types of agriculture and life conditions. Crossing this map with those of the presence of the tepetates, we could define conditions and propositions for the generation of new soil from tepetates.
