  abstract = {{A} {L}andsat {RM} image was used to map {P}lio-quaternary and {O}ligo-{M}iocene volcanic deposits from the {W}estern {C}ordillera, southwest of {C}uenca ({E}cuador). {T}he study focused on the {P}lio-{Q}uaternary {Q}uimsacocha volcano. {B}est results were obtained using unsupervised multispectral classification combined with other methods (mathematical morphology, etc..). {T}he interpretation was locally validated by field observations.
