  abstract = {{I}n {P}angani and {T}anga, {T}anzania, {HIV}-patients were treated in close collaboration of the author (medical doctor) and {M}r {W}aziri {M}risho and {M}r {S}aleh {W}azili (traditional healers) with modern medicine and a decoction of herbs. {C}ompared with a group, only treated with modern medicine, the group also treated with herbs showed significant increase of survival rate and significant improvement of body weight, {H}emoglobine and {E}rythrocyte {S}edimentation {R}ate. {L}iterature studies, botanical classification and pharmaceutical analysis are done. {F}urther clinical studies are conducted in {T}anzania and {N}orway as well as in vitro studies. {T}he treatment is cheap and locally available for a poor and highly affected population. {T}reatment must always be combined with health education and prevention.
