@article{PAR00014192, title = {{N}on contiguous-finished genome sequence and description of {B}acillus jeddahensis sp. nov.}, author = {{B}ittar, {F}. and {B}ibi, {F}. and {R}amasamy, {D}. and {L}agier, {J}. {C}. and {A}zhar, {E}. {I}. and {J}iman-{F}atani, {A}. {A}. and {A}l-{G}hamdi, {A}. {K}. and {N}guyen, {T}. {T}. and {Y}asir, {M}. and {F}ournier, {P}. {E}. and {R}aoult, {D}idier}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{S}train {JCE}({T}) was isolated from the fecal sample of a 24-year-old obese man living in {J}eddah, {S}audi {A}rabia. {I}t is an aerobic, {G}ram-positive, rod-shaped bacterium. {T}his strain exhibits a 16{S} r{RNA} nucleotide sequence similarity of 97.5 % with {B}acillus niacini, the phylogenetically closest species with standing nomenclature. {M}oreover, the strain {JCE}({T}) presents many phenotypic differences, when it is compared to other {B}acillus species, and shows a low {MALDI}-{TOF} {M}ass {S}pectrometry score that does not allow any identification. {T}hus, it is likely that this strain represents a new species. {H}ere we describe the features of this organism, together with the complete genome sequence and annotation. {T}he 4,762,944 bp long genome (1 chromosome but no plasmid) contains 4,654 protein-coding and 98 {RNA}s genes, including 92 t{RNA} genes. {T}he strain {JCE}({T}) differs from most of the other closely {B}acillus species by more than 1 % in {G} + {C} content. {I}n addition, digital {DNA}-{DNA} hybridization values for the genome of the strain {JCE}({T}) against the closest {B}acillus genomes range between 19.5 to 28.1, that confirming again its new species status. {O}n the basis of these polyphasic data made of phenotypic and genomic analyses, we propose the creation of {B}acillus jeddahensis sp. nov. that contains the strain {JCE}({T}).}, keywords = {{B}acillus jeddahensis ; {G}enome ; {T}axono-genomics ; {C}ulturomics ; {H}uman feces ; {ARABIE} {SAOUDITE}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{S}tandards in {G}enomic {S}ciences}, volume = {10}, numero = {}, pages = {art. 47}, ISSN = {1944-3277}, year = {2015}, DOI = {10.1186/s40793-015-0024-y}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/{PAR}00014192}, }
