@article{PAR00014184, title = {{G}enome sequence of {O}ceanobacillus picturae strain {S}1, an halophilic bacterium first isolated in human gut}, author = {{L}agier, {J}. {C}. and {K}helaifia, {S}. and {A}zhar, {E}. {I}. and {C}roce, {O}. and {B}ibi, {F}. and {J}iman-{F}atani, {A}. {A}. and {Y}asir, {M}. and {B}en {H}elaby, {H}. and {R}obert, {C}. and {F}ournier, {P}. {E}. and {R}aoult, {D}idier}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{O}ceanobacillus picturae is a strain of a moderately halophilic bacterium, first isolated from a mural painting. {W}e demonstrate, for the first time, the culture of human {O}ceanobacillus picturae, strain {S}1({T}), whose genome is described here, from a stool sample collected from a 25-year-old {S}aoudian healthy individual. {W}e used a slightly modified standard culture medium adding 100 g/{L} of {N}a{C}l. {W}e provide a short description of this strain including its {MALDI}-{TOF} spectrum, the main identification tool currently used in clinical microbiology. {T}he 3,675,175 bp long genome exhibits a {G} + {C} content of 39.15 % and contains 3666 protein-coding and 157 {RNA} genes. {T}he draft genome sequence of {O}ceanobacillus picturae has a similar size to the {O}ceanobacillus kimchii (respectively 3.67 {M}b versus 3.83 {M}b). {T}he {G} + {C} content was higher compared with {O}ceanobacillus kimchii (respectively 39.15 % and 35.2 %). {O}ceanobacillus picturae shared almost identical number of genes (3823 genes versus 3879 genes), with a similar ratio of genes per {M}b (1041 genes/{M}b versus 1012 genes/{M}b). {T}he genome sequencing of {O}ceanobacillus picturae strain {S}1 isolated for the first time in a human, will be added to the 778 genome projects from the gastrointestinal tract listed by the international consortium {H}uman {M}icrobiome {P}roject.}, keywords = {{O}ceanobacillus picturae ; {G}enome ; {H}alophilic bacteria ; {H}uman gut ; {C}ulturomics ; {ARABIE} {SAOUDITE} ; {FRANCE}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{S}tandards in {G}enomic {S}ciences}, volume = {10}, numero = {}, pages = {art. 91}, ISSN = {1944-3277}, year = {2015}, DOI = {10.1186/s40793-015-0081-2}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/{PAR}00014184}, }
