@article{PAR00013841, title = {{C}rassaminicella profunda gen. nov., sp nov., an anaerobic marine bacterium isolated from deep-sea sediments}, author = {{L}akhal, {R}. and {P}radel, {N}athalie and {P}ostec, {A}. and {I}vier, {B}. and {C}ayol, {J}. {L}. and {G}odfroy, {A}. and {F}ardeau, {M}arie-{L}aure and {G}ales, {G}.}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{A} novel, anaerobic, chemo-organotrophic bacterium, designated strain {R}a1766{HT}, was isolated from sediments of the {G}uaymas basin ({G}ulf of {C}alifornia, {M}exico) taken from a depth of 2002 m. {C}ells were thin, motile, {G}ram-stain-positive, flexible rods forming terminal endospores. {S}train {R}a1766{H}({T}) grew at temperatures of 25-45 degrees {C} (optimum 30 degrees {C}), p{H} 6.7-8.1 (optimum 7.5) and in a salinity of 5-60 g l(-1) {N}a{C}l (optimum 30 g l(-1)). {I}t was an obligate heterotrophic bacterium fermenting carbohydrates (glucose and mannose) and organic acids (pyruvate and succinate). {C}asamino acids and amino acids (glutamate, aspartate and glycine) were also fermented. {T}he main end products from glucose fermentation were acetate, butyrate, ethanol, {H}-2 and {CO}2. {S}ulfate, sulfite, thiosulfate, elemental sulfur, fumarate, nitrate, nitrite and {F}e({III}) were not used as terminal electron acceptors. {T}he predominant cellular fatty acids were {C}-14 : 0, {C}-16:1 omega 7, {C}-16:1 omega 7 {DMA} and {C}-16:0. {T}he main polar lipids consisted of phosphatidylglycerol, diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine and phospholipids. {T}he {G} +{C} content of the genomic {DNA} was 33.7 molo/o. {P}hylogenetic analysis of the 16{S} r{RNA} gene sequence indicated that strain {R}a1766{H}({T}) was affiliated to cluster {XI} of the order {C}lostridia les, phylum {F}irmicutes. {T}he closest phylogenetic relative of {R}a1766{H}({T}) was {G}eosporobacter subterraneus (94.2% 16{S} r{RNA} gene sequence similarity). {O}n the basis of phylogenetic inference and phenotypic properties, strain {R}a1766{H}({T}) (={DSM} 27501({T})={JCM} 19377({T})) is proposed to be the type strain of a novel species of a novel genus, named {C}rassaminicella pro funda.}, keywords = {{MEXIQUE} ; {CALIFORNIE} {GOLFE} ; {GUAYMAS} {GOLFE}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{I}nternational {J}ournal of {S}ystematic and {E}volutionary {M}icrobiology}, volume = {65}, numero = {9}, pages = {3097--3102}, ISSN = {1466-5026}, year = {2015}, DOI = {10.1099/ijsem.0.000386}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/{PAR}00013841}, }
