@article{PAR00011281, title = {{S}taphylococcus aureus subsp. anaerobius strain {ST}1464 genome sequence}, author = {{E}lbir, {H}. and {R}obert, {C}. and {N}guyen, {T}. {T}. and {G}imenez, {G}. and {E}l {S}anousi, {S}. {M}. and {F}lock, {J}. {I}. and {R}aoult, {D}idier and {D}rancourt, {M}.}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{S}taphylococcus aureus subsp. anaerobius is responsible for {M}orel's disease in animals and a cause of abscess in humans. {I}t is characterized by a microaerophilic growth, contrary to the other strains of {S}. aureus. {T}he 2,604,446-bp genome (32.7% {GC} content) of {S}. anaerobius {ST}1464 comprises one chromosome and no plasmids. {T}he chromosome contains 2,660 open reading frames ({ORF}s), 49 t{RNA}s and three complete r{RNA}s, forming one complete operon. {T}he size of {ORF}s ranges between 100 to 4,600 bp except for two {ORF}s of 6,417 and 7,173 bp encoding segregation {ATP}ase and non-ribosomal peptide synthase, respectively. {T}he chromosome harbors {S}taphylococcus phage 2638{A} genome and incomplete {S}taphylococcus phage genome {PT}1028, but no detectable {CRISPRS}. {T}he antibiotic resistance gene for tetracycline was found although {S}taphylococcus aureus subsp. anaerobius is susceptible to tetracycline in-vitro. {I}ntact oxygen detoxification genes encode superoxide dismutase and cytochrome quinol oxidase whereas the catalase gene is impaired by a stop codon. {B}ased on the genome, in-silico multilocus sequence typing indicates that {S}. aureus subsp. anaerobius emerged as a clone separated from all other {S}. aureus strains, illustrating host-adaptation linked to missing functions. {A}vailability of {S}. aureus subsp. anaerobius genome could prompt the development of post-genomic tools for its rapid discrimination from {S}. aureus.}, keywords = {{S}taphylococcus aureus subsp anaerobius ; genome ; {SOL}i{D} ; {M}orel's disease}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{S}tandards in {G}enomic {S}ciences}, volume = {9}, numero = {1}, pages = {1--13}, ISSN = {1944-3277}, year = {2013}, DOI = {10.4056/sigs.3747423}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/{PAR}00011281}, }
