@article{PAR00010719, title = {{M}elghirimyces thermohalophilus sp nov., a thermoactinomycete isolated from an {A}lgerian salt lake}, author = {{A}ddou, {A}. {N}. and {S}chumann, {P}. and {S}proer, {C}. and {B}ouanane-{D}arenfed, {A}. and {A}marouche-{Y}ala, {S}. and {H}acene, {H}. and {C}ayoll, {J}. {L}. and {F}ardeau, {M}arie-{L}aure}, editor = {}, language = {{ENG}}, abstract = {{A} novel filamentous bacterium, designated {N}ari11{A}({T}), was isolated from soil collected from a salt lake named {C}hott {M}elghir, located in north-eastern {A}lgeria. {T}he strain is an aerobic, halophilic, thermotolerant, {G}ram-stain-positive bacterium, growing at {N}a{C}l concentrations between 5 and 20% (w/v) and at 43-60 degrees {C} and p{H} 5.0-10.0. {T}he major fatty acids were iso-{C}-15:0, anteiso-{C}-15:0 and iso-{C}-17:0. {T}he {DNA} {G}+{C} content was 53.4 mol%. {LL}-{D}iaminopimelic acid was the diamino acid of the peptidoglycan. {T}he major menaquinone was {MK}-7, but {MK}-6 and {MK}-8 were also present in trace amounts. {T}he polar lipid profile consisted of phosphatidylglycerol, diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylmonomethylethanolamine and three unidentified phospholipids. {R}esults of molecular and phenotypic analyses led to the description of the strain as a novel member to the genus {M}elghirimyces, family {T}hermoactinomycetaceae. {S}train {N}ari11{A}({T}) shows 96.7% 16{S} r{RNA} gene sequence similarity to the type strain of {M}elghirimyces algeriensis. {O}n the basis of phenotypic, physiological and phylogenetic data, strain {N}ari11{A}({T}) (={DSM} 45514({T}) ={CCUG} 60050({T})) represents the type strain of a novel species, for which the name {M}elghirimyces thermohalophllus sp. nov. is proposed.}, keywords = {{ALGERIE}}, booktitle = {}, journal = {{I}nternational {J}ournal of {S}ystematic and {E}volutionary {M}icrobiology}, volume = {63}, numero = {5}, pages = {1717--1722}, ISSN = {1466-5026}, year = {2013}, DOI = {10.1099/ijs.0.043760-0}, URL = {https://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/{PAR}00010719}, }
