The only respiratory quinone was MK-7 and the major fatty acids were anteiso-C15:0 (34.3%), anteiso-C17:0 (18.7%) and iso-C16:0 (18.6%). Mycolic acids were not present. Polar lipids present were phosphatidylglycerol, diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylcholine and unidentified glycolipids. The isomer of diaminopimelic acid identified was meso-diaminopimelic acid, and the analysis of whole-cell sugars showed the presence of high amounts of galactose, ribose and some glucose. The G + C content of strain 6401990(T) was 68.6%. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequence comparisons showed 95.1% similarity with Dermabacter hominis. On the basis of phenotypic data and phylogenetic inference, it is proposed that this strain represents a novel species in a new genus of the family Dermabacteraceae, for which the name Helcobacillus massiliensis gen. nov., sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is 6401990(T) (CSUR P17(T) = CIP 109418(T) = CCUG 53859(T)).
<targetAudience authority="marctarget">specialized</targetAudience><classification authority="local">020 </classification><classification authority="local">052 </classification><relatedItem type="host"><titleInfo><title>International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology</title></titleInfo><part><detail type="volume"><number>59</number></detail><detail type="issue"><number>Part 9</number></detail><extent unit="pages"><start>2346</start><end>2351</end></extent></part><originInfo><dateIssued>2009</dateIssued></originInfo><identifier type="issn">1466-5026</identifier></relatedItem><identifier type="uri">http://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/PAR00004158</identifier><identifier type="doi">10.1099/ijs.0.003319-0</identifier><location><physicalLocation>IRD Bondy</physicalLocation><shelfLocator/><url usage="primary display" access="object in context">http://www.documentation.ird.fr/hor/PAR00004158</url></location><recordInfo><recordContentSource>IRD - Base Horizon / Pleins textes</recordContentSource><recordCreationDate encoding="w3cdtf">2009-11-09</recordCreationDate><recordChangeDate encoding="w3cdtf">2009-11-09</recordChangeDate><recordIdentifier>PAR00004158</recordIdentifier><languageOfCataloging><languageTerm authority="iso639-2b">fre</languageTerm></languageOfCataloging></recordInfo></mods></modsCollection>
